Home

Here are a few photos shot around my family's home in California.
I love going home and seeing things how I expect them.
Molly spending her day on the cool hardwood floor.
The piano is still just a little dusty.
Mom's plant collection has doubled.
and Dad has new projects in the works.

I love my family.

Weekend Adventure

Friday morning we woke up around 7:30am. Around 8:00 I remembered that it was a free day at Yellowstone National Park. We were in the park by 11:00. We spent our time in Yellowstone waiting for Old Faithful, walking around geysers and soaking up the sun. On our way home we hunted and hunted for a camping spot. We were planning on camping in Yellowstone, but only Mammoth Hot Springs was opened. All of the camping spots between West Yellowstone and St. Anthony were closed. We were sad.... BUT THEN we remembered it was $5 Friday at our local bowling alley. We bowled three games, Chris won all three. After we were all bowled out Chris suggested we explore a road near our house. So we did. Lo and behold there was free camping at the end of that 15 mile dirt road. We set up our tent real quick and Chris made a fire. I love him.

We were up by 6:30am the next morning and started exploring the campgrounds. We saw a variety of birds, four moose and six deer.

Talk about a fun weekend.
This is Chris saying, "I'm cold"

Thank goodness for phones

I'm grateful to have a phone with a decent built in camera.
These photos were taken in Yellowstone and St. Anthony this weekend.

R Mountain

Last weekend Chris and I hiked R mountain.
The SAND SIDE of R mountain.

Let me explain...
I'm out of shape.... okay that's about all the explaining there is.
Despite me not being fit, we made it to the top.
This hike reinforced my opinion of having the best husband in the world.
How you say?
-He stopped every 10 minutes for me to catch my breath
-He stopped every 2 minutes for me to snap a photo
AND
-He held my hand down the mountain so I wouldn't fall and break my camera
For someone who could have hiked the mountain in half the time we did, he was extremely kind.
I love him.

Our visit to Atwater

Last Saturday Chris and I were shopping at the Family Dollar, there we decided that we would go home pack and start driving home to California. We spent the week in Merced and Atwater with our families(Holla for having both families in the same stake!). One of the days that we were in Atwater we made a trip out to the Schaeffer Bridge. We threw rocks into the water and had a great time.

This is my favorite tree in Atwater.

Good Reads

"I plead with you not to let those most important things pass you by as you plan for that illusive and nonexistent future when you will have time to do all that you want to do. Instead, find joy in the journey- now."
-Thomas S. Monson

This last weekend I bought the book The Power of Starting Something Stupid by Richie Norton. It is blowing my mind, in a good way. The book is about not waiting on making your dreams happen. It doesn't pretend that you won't face struggles on your journey, but it reminds you of how bad you want to do something. Struggling is a normal thing. The book gives you courage to take leaps of faith. It reminds you of great people we all know who made "crazy" decisions but still managed to succeed.

I'm not even finished reading this book but I am highly recommending it to you.
